Joey Inbox Organizer

Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

Joey Inbox Organizer is operated by Joey Hurley for use with his personal Gmail account. This policy describes how the app handles Google account data, email content, and information associated with this website.

Information accessed

With the account owner's authorization, the app accesses selected Gmail messages and threads. This may include:

The current categorization workflow uses sender information, subjects, and message text or snippets. It does not intentionally submit email attachments to the categorization model.

How information is used

Data is used to classify messages, apply Gmail labels or categories, archive selected promotional threads, move qualifying mail to Trash, and diagnose workflow failures. The operator may review execution results when maintaining the automation.

The app does not sell email data or use it for advertising. Google account data is used for this personal email-management function.

Processing and sharing

The automation runs on the operator's self-hosted n8n server. Gmail requests are sent to Google to perform the authorized mailbox operations.

For AI categorization, sender information, subjects, and email text or snippets are sent to Google's Gemini API with classification instructions. The service returns a category that the workflow validates before applying the corresponding label.

Google's handling of data submitted to its API depends on the applicable Gemini API terms and the operator's account and service settings. This policy does not promise that Google retains no API request data or makes no other use permitted by those terms. See the Gemini API terms and Google Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare hosts this public informational website and provides access infrastructure for the operator's services. It may process connection information such as IP addresses, request times, and security logs. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Email data is not published on this website. The site contains no app-added advertising, analytics scripts, tracking cookies, or account-registration forms.

Storage and protection

Mailbox messages remain in Gmail. Connection credentials and saved workflow executions are stored in the operator's n8n environment. Saved executions may contain email content, classification prompts, model responses, message identifiers, labels, and processing outcomes.

Access to the automation and its stored data is restricted to the operator and any explicitly authorized maintenance access. Connections to Google APIs and the public website use HTTPS. The operator is responsible for securing the server, credentials, execution history, and backups.

Retention and deletion

The current cleanup rule selects threads carrying the AutoDelete-4M label that match Gmail's older_than:4m query, while excluding starred, important, and already-trashed results. This query uses message age; it does not measure how long a label has been applied. Because cleanup acts on threads, a matching older message can cause its conversation to be moved to Trash.

Messages moved to Gmail's Spam folder or Trash are subject to Google's automatic deletion rules, generally after 30 days in those folders. The automation moves mail to Trash rather than calling a permanent-delete operation.

n8n execution history and server backups follow the operator's configured retention and pruning settings. They do not automatically share the mailbox's four-month cleanup rule, and no fixed retention period for these copies is stated here. The operator can delete saved executions and manage backups separately.

Data retained by Google Gemini or Cloudflare follows the applicable provider terms and settings.

Account control

The account owner can stop future processing by disabling the workflow or revoking the app's access in Google Account connections. Revoking access does not undo existing mailbox changes or automatically delete previously saved execution history.

The operator can review labels, restore recoverable mail, change cleanup rules, and remove saved workflow data.

Google API data use

Joey Inbox Organizer's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Updates and contact

This policy will be updated when the app's data handling changes. Questions about the app or its data handling can be sent to Joey Hurley at joeyhurley@gmail.com.
